The Chortkiv city hall is announcing a competition among private businesses and organizations for establishment of a kiosk to provide information to visitors in the city.
The announcement, to be published on March 16, 2006, promises that the winner will be exempted from payment for the land plot for a certain period of time. On the other hand, the kiosk will have to meet certain requirements in terms of location and appearance, and it will be bound to sell books, souvenirs, booklets, guides, maps, etc. on Chortkiv and its surroundings.
The move is in pursuance of the Economic Development Strategic Plan, developed under the USAID LED project and approved by the City Rada last fall. Tourism development, which is one of the plan’s so-called critical issues, provides for creation of a tourism marketing and promotion system in the city, including provision of information for potential visitors and tourists.
