Inecon Group a.s. from the Czech Republic will build an 18-kilometer trolley bus line in Mykolaiv.
Under the contract, signed on Feb. 22, 2006 with communal enterprise MykolaivElectroTrans, the latter will take up a €26.5 million loan for 10 years from the Czech Export Bank against a guarantee of UkrEximBank.
Inecon will do observation on the work and contract supervision, while farming out the rest to Ukrainian subcontractors.
The trolley bus line construction will also include reconstruction of the road itself, to bring it up to European standards. It is estimated that the line will be commissioned in late 2008.
Inecon Group a.s. activities include manufacture of trolley buses and streetcars. The company also engages in technologies for process industries.Mykolaiv is the first city in Ukraine where Inecon has been awarded a contract. The company is currently negotiating reconstruction of the Yalta-Simferopol trolley bus line in Crimea, construction of a streetcar line in Kryvy Rih, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, and supply of 20 streetcars to Kyiv.
